资源简介:
This report presented the results of a cultural resource survey of three proposed bridge and road relocations associated with the planned Richard B. Russell Reservoir. Two of these three project areas were located on Georgia State Road 368 at the crossing of that road over Coldwater Creek (Map Reference 1-4) and the Savannah River (Map Reference 1-2). The third was located at the crossing of Georgia State Road 181-S over the Savannah River (Map Reference 1-3). No cultural resources were discovered in the direct path of any of these planned relocations, although caution must be exercised at 1-2 to avoid damaging a National Register prehistoric site located 400 feet to the south of the proposed corridor. One small prehistoric scatter and an isolated find recovered from the same corridor were recommended for full clearance. No additional cultural clearance could be recommended for all three of these project areas.
