The quiet January 2025 disappearance of the “Humanitarian Area” in IDF maps of Gaza

While announced with much fanfare by the IDF on May 6, 2024, the Humanitarian Zone declared to be a safe haven for Gazan civilians seems to have disappeared from use with no explicit announcement, but, simply, a lapse in use since the Israel-Hamas Ceasefire agreement in mid-January, 2025. This description documents the falling away of this designation in official IDF Spokesman communications.
