收藏资源简介:
Epigenetic modifications play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of periodontal diseases. Recent studies indicate that changes in DNA methylation, histone modification, and non-coding RNAs are reflected in saliva, making it a promising non-invasive diagnostic fluid. Salivary biomarkers can reveal early molecular changes associated with periodontal inflammation, tissue destruction, and disease progression, allowing timely intervention and personalized treatment. Advances in molecular biology, genomics, and high-throughput sequencing technologies have enhanced the detection of these epigenetic changes in saliva. Integrating salivary epigenetic biomarkers into clinical practice may improve early diagnosis, risk assessment, and monitoring of periodontal disease progression [1, 2, 3].
