Images from Level 2 Descriptive Historic Building Recording at 41 Watergate, Grantham Lincolnshire, April 2024

This collection comprises images from a Level 2 Descriptive Historic Building Recording at 41 Watergate, Grantham Lincolnshire. Work was carried out by Border Archaeology from April 2024 who were commissioned to carry out a programme of Archaeological Standing Building Recording (ASBR) to Historic England Level 2, in connection with the proposed redevelopment of the former Playhouse pub and adjoining extension at No. 41 Watergate, into two commercial units and 12 residential dwellings. The property at No. 41 Watergate is a three-storey former public house of late 18th to early 19th century date with later 19th and 20th century additions to the rear. It is situated within the Grantham Conservation Area, and forms part of a longer terrace on the W side of Watergate, which includes 12 Grade II Listed buildings.
