This dataset contains lake water carbon pool concentration responses to three different wildfires. Sampling campaigns took place once in June or early July after the onset of thermal stratification (although not all lakes were deep enough to stratify) over two years; Côte-Nord was sampled in 2021, while Minnesota and Saguenay were sampled in 2022. Sampling varied in the time since the fire occurred, with the Côte-Nord fire (CN, 128 km2) occurring 3 years pre-sampling, the Saguenay fire (SAG, 599 km2) occurring 2 years pre-sampling, and the Greenwood Fire in Minnesota (MN, 108 km2) occurring 8 months pre-sampling.
