资源简介:
Broadnose sevengill sharks are an ecologically important coastal apex predator. As with many shark species, little is known about their genetic structure and connectivity. This project used mitochondrial and nuclear DNA haplotype frequencies to examine patterns of genetic structure in the broadnose sevengill shark, Notorynchus cepedianus across three major oceanic regions (South Atlantic, Oceania and Eastern Pacific). Additionally a time calibrated Bayesian Inference phylogenetic reconstruction was used to analyses global phylogeographic patterns and estimate divergence times among distinctive shark lineages. Our findings provide valuable information on the global population structure of broadnose sevengill sharks, which can inform global management of this species.
