资源简介:
The Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST) Survey is a multi-wave survey that aims to examine public perceptions of climate change and climate-related risks over time; explore how beliefs, attitudes, and engagement with climate change and climate action change across survey waves; and investigate public engagement with key domains of everyday life that are central to emissions reductions, including diet, transport, material consumption, and thermal comfort, as well as perceptions of policymaking processes and public engagement.
This online survey forms part of the Visioning research (Theme 1) and contributes to Research Project 1.1, Public perceptions of climate change and transformative action, within Phase 2 of CAST. CAST Survey Wave 5B constitutes a continuation of the multi-wave survey study conducted annually between 2020 and 2023 during Phase 1 of CAST. The original Phase 1 CAST survey included a core set of tracking items repeated across waves, alongside bespoke and flexible modules introduced in each wave. CAST Survey Wave 5B was collected in 2025 and includes the most important tracking items used for the CAST data portal, alongside additional survey items. Data were collected from 1,500 UK respondents using quota sampling to achieve a sample broadly representative of the UK adult population in terms of age, sex, and ethnicity.
