Therefore, this in vitro study assumes that the best combination of fresh or inactivated rumen fractions (fluid, solid, washed solid) can be found to verify whether live bacteria are dominant, differences in 24-hour fermentation results from live bacteria from different rumen fractions, and the significance of washing the rumen solids, thus enabling a description of the most suitable inoculum to be used for in vitro studies or inoculated in vivo as probiotics.
