资源简介:
The purpose of the Stock Book was to keep a record of materials supplied to the school by the Department of Education, and of their expenditure and replenishment from year to year. Maintenance of the record was the responsibility of the Principal. The volume is divided into columns, six to an opening, of which the first is pre-printed with a list of the various items ordinarily supplied to the school, and the other five record the changes in quantity over five years, at one column to a year. Each yearly column is further subdivided to record the quantity of each item on hand at the beginning of the year, additions to stock during the course of the year (with date of receipt and invoice number), and any quantity written off as unusable before the end of the year.Items listed fall under the following categories: Items for Record Purposes, Blackboard Accessories, Items for Teacher’s Use, General School Materials, Mathematical Instruments, Cleaning Material, Art Supplies, First Aid Materials, Writing Books, Supplementary Readers and Music. Some space is allowed for additional items to be listed by hand. The volume held of the present series concludes with such a hand-written listing of non-expendable items for use in handicrafts. The Observation Book (1/5115) records that, at the inspection held on 10th May, 1962, the school did not possess a Stock Book, and the sole volume held of the present series commences sixteen months later. There appears, therefore, to be a gap of indeterminate size in this series. The latest datable entry in the volume is the dated initials of the Inspector, indicating that the record was examined on the 10th November, 1965, a few weeks before the closure of the school.
