This dataset contains surface and TOA longwave cloud radiative effect (LWCRE) estimated from cloud properties derived from the CALIPSO-GOCCP space lidar product. Here we provide the 2°x2° LWCRE monthly gridded product over the 2008–2020 time period in a netcdf file. This file contains also the five CALIPSO-GOCCP cloud properties used in the retrieval: opaque cloud cover and altitude, and thin cloud cover, altitude, and emissivity. The LWCREs are computed using parameterizations between the LWCREs, the five cloud properties and temperature and humidity profiles. These latter are taken from ERA-Interim reanalysis.
