LDA and Sentiment Analysis Code for The Long Season

This dataset contains supplementary scripts and visualizations for a study on audience reception of the Chinese television drama *The Long Season*. The materials include Python code for Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling and sentiment analysis using SnowNLP, along with corresponding output figures derived from the platforms of user reviews. Contents:- `lda_topic_modeling_script.py`: Python script for LDA analysis with perplexity-based topic number selection, including Chinese text preprocessing with Jieba and stopword filtering. - `sentiment_analysis_snownlp_script.py`: Python script for sentiment scoring of user comments using the SnowNLP library, with distribution histogram and trend visualization.- `sentiment_score_distribution_and_trend.png`: Visualization of sentiment score distribution and temporal trend. - `lda_perplexity_topic_selection.png`: Perplexity curve for optimal topic number determination. Data Ethics Statement:All data are anonymized and do not contain any personally identifiable information (PII). The analysis was conducted in compliance with the platform's Terms of Service and applicable academic research ethics guidelines. No institutional ethical approval was sought as the study involves fully anonymized, publicly accessible data with no risk of individual identification.
