Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS): Degrees and Other Formal Awards Conferred, 1972/1973, HEGIS VIII

<p>This survey collects data on institutions of higher education and is designed to obtain a count, by field of study, of earned degrees and other formal awards conferred. The data provide information on type and control of institution, sex of student, level of degree or award and field of specialty. This data are required of agencies of the legislative and executive branches of government at the state and federal levels as well as accrediting agencies, professional organizations and a number of individual institutions interested in conducting comparative studies.</p>
