This data constitutes particle-associated and free-living bacterioplankton of chaliyar river collected during pre-monsoon season. The samples were collected from eight sites of chaliyar river which are Beypore, Azhinjillam, Oorkadavu, Mukkam, Areekode, Mampadu, Nilambur, and Chaliyar mukku. The sites were divided into upstream and downstream based on Salinity . Upstream includes Areekode, Mampadu, Nilambur, Chaliyar mukku and downstream includes Beypore, Azhinjillam, Oorkadavu and Mukkam. The divided samples were pooled and filtered using a 3micrometre and 0.22micrometre membrane filter to collect both Particle associated and free-living bacterioplankton. DNA extraction and Sequencing were done using the membrane filter.
