Honeymoon Weather Atlas, Cost Index and Destination Traits: monthly climate normals and travel-cost estimates for 83 leisure destinations
收藏资源简介:
Three linked open datasets describing 83 popular leisure and honeymoon destinations worldwide, published by honeymoon.wiki. Weather Atlas (996 rows). Monthly climate normals per destination, derived from ten years (2015-2024) of ERA5 reanalysis obtained through the Open-Meteo Historical Weather API. Fields: average daily maximum and minimum temperature, monthly precipitation (mm), wet days, sunshine hours per day, and sea surface temperature for coastal destinations. A wet day is counted at 3 mm or more, because ERA5 records light tropical drizzle as rain and a lower threshold over-counts wet days in the tropics. Each destination-month also carries a four-level suitability rating (best / good / mixed / avoid), computed as 0.45 x warmth + 0.45 x dryness + 0.10 x sunshine against a per-destination comfortable temperature band, then reduced for tropical-cyclone season and for known seasonal closures. Cost Index (249 rows). Estimated on-the-ground cost of a seven-night stay for two people at three comfort levels, in US dollars: accommodation, food, experiences, and mandatory fees and transfers such as green taxes, park fees and island transfers. Flights are excluded. These are editorial estimates set in October 2026, not observed transaction data, and should be treated as order-of-magnitude guidance. Destination Traits (83 rows). Editorial scores from 0 to 10 across roughly 40 attributes per destination, covering setting (beach, island, mountain, snow, desert, jungle, city), mood (romance, seclusion, buzz, luxury) and activities (diving, wildlife, spa, culture, food, wine), plus each destination's best months. The weather data is derived rather than editorial; the cost and trait data are editorial estimates and are labelled as such.
