SURE 2.0 is a brand-new version of the Seismic Surface Rupture Database, which provides critical empirical data for global fault displacement hazard assessments. This database systematically compiles data from 50 globally occurring seismic events with surface ruptures that took place between 1872 and 2019, covering various fault movement types such as thrust, normal, and strike-slip faults. As the core innovation of this version, the database introduces a rupture feature rating mechanism to grade the quality and geological characteristics of all rupture traces and displacement measurement data. This mechanism takes geology as the primary analytical tool, enabling end users to obtain more appropriate regression analysis parameters based on the specific geological conditions of their target sites. The dataset is mainly composed of three parts: 1. Tables containing background information for each seismic event. 2. Tables containing specific displacement measurement data for each event. 3. A combined Shapefile geographic information file that aggregates all surface rupture traces in the database.
