We augmented the Zinc carboxypeptidase A1 (CP, AGAP009593) gene of the malaria mosquito Anopheles gambiae to secrete the exogenous antimicrobial peptides Magainin 2 and Melittin, and to enable non-autonomous gene drive via an intronic guide RNA. We performed RNA-seq on dissected midguts prior to and 6 and 20 hours after blood feeding in parallel with the wild-type.
