Brno je z hlediska své zástavby velmi různorodé a lidé z různých typů zástavby nemusí mít na bydlení stejné názory, i když jsou třeba ve stejně vzdělaní nebo stejného věku. Proto ve výzkumu i v následné analýze pracujeme i s kategorií územního typu. Brno lze totiž dle charakteru zástavby rozdělit do 6 územních typů:1) Historické centrum – jedná se o oblast vymezenou hranicí Městské památkové rezervace.2) Vnitřní centrum – oblast bezprostředně navazující na historické centrum. Většinou bloková zástavba městských domů z 19. a přelomu 19. a 20. století.3) Širší centrum – oblast přiléhající k historickému a vnitřnímu městskému centru. Bloková struktura méně zřetelná, mix bytových a rodinných domů.4) Vilové čtvrtě – oblast rezidenčních čtvrtí rodinných domů s vyšším socioekonomickým statusem.5) Sídliště – oblast velkokapacitních monofunkčních modernistických sídlišť, které vznikaly od60. let po současnost a také nová zástavba obytných souborů.6) Příměstská zástavba – Oblasti na městské periférii s čitelným venkovským charakterem. Jsou zde zahrnuty venkovské struktury původních obcí i nová výstavba (suburbia).Data jsou v souřadnicovém systému GCS WGS84.Polygon layer of types of built-up areas in the city according to the typology defined by the Office of the Architect of the City. Mostly block of town houses from the 19th and the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.3) Wider center - an area adjacent to the historic and inner city center. Block structure less clear, mix of apartment and family houses.4) Residential areas - the area of residential areas of family houses with higher socio-economic status.5) Housing estates - the area of large - capacity mono-functional modernist settlements, which arose from60s to the present and also new construction of residential complexes.6) Suburban development - Areas on the outskirts of the city with a legible rural character. It includes rural structures of the original villages as well as new construction (suburbia).Coordinate system is GCS WGS84.
