Land cover validation dataset over global mountains

This dataset comprises 55,759 reference samples collected across global mountainous regions for the year 2020. The samples were derived through meticulous visual interpretation of very high-resolution imagery and validated using Sentinel-2 data and NDVI time series analysis. After validation, the final dataset included 55,759 samples, distributed as follows: 18,436 for trees, 12,974 for mixed vegetation, 6,441 for cropland, 3,712 for open water, 4,320 for built-up areas, 5,640 for bare land, and 4,254 for snow and ice.The accompanying shapefile includes a column named "LC" representing land cover classes, with the following values: Trees (1) Mixed vegetation (2) Cropland (3) Open water (4) Built-up (5) Bare land (6) Snow & Ice (7)
