Derived from Landsat imagery, the dataset primarily uses Landsat data acquired in October, with one data point collected every three years to minimize seasonal variations while maximizing the available data volume. Lake areas were extracted using the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), and each lake was manually visually inspected and edited. This dataset has been applied to studies on lake changes, lake water balance, and climate change over the Tibetan Plateau. Data type: Vector. Projection: WGS84.
