WARN Index: US WARN Act Layoff Notices Dataset

Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notices filed with US state labor agencies, collected daily from 48 state sources (47 states and the District of Columbia) and normalized into one table by WARN Index (https://warnindex.com). This snapshot has 96,083 notices with notice dates from 1989-01-13 to 2026-11-02. Each record has the state, employer, notice and effective dates, number of workers affected, closure category, matched company, NAICS industry, location (city, county, ZIP, latitude/longitude), and links to the state source and the notice's page on WARN Index. Superseded duplicate filings are excluded. Files: warn_dataset.parquet and warn_dataset.csv.gz (the same data), and README.md (field list and notes). Records come from public state filings. Employer matching, industry classification and geocoding are WARN Index's. Notices can be amended after filing; check the linked state source before relying on a single record.
