Supplementary dataset for paper "Evolution of a Chloroplast Sub-compartment Housing Plastid DNA Inside a Cup-like Starch Granule"

Zheng et al. investigate a green algal chloroplast sub-compartment in which plastid DNA is sequestered inside a cup-like starch granule. Evolution of this compartment is associated with the development of enlarged chloroplasts. Lineage-specific CCUP proteins combine DNA- and starch-binding domains required to contain plastid DNA inside the cup.
