Ethylene contributes to CBC resistanceWe treated Wanjincheng leaves with ethephon (ethylene-releasing agent) and performed a CBC resistance assay to determine the function of ethylene. At 10 dpi, the symptoms of the ethephon-treated group were significantly reduced, with no pustular symptoms appearing. The lesions were significantly smaller than that of the control group. The lesion area of the ethephon-treated group decreased by 54.0%, while the disease index also decreased by 34.1%. The above results indicated that ethylene could positively regulate CBC resistance.
