The flyback impact dataset consists of 50 high-frequency force measurement files collected from a comprehensive experimental study investigating the impact dynamics of different fishing gear configurations during simulated line failure events under controlled laboratory conditions. The data is organized into five experimental groups representing distinct gear configurations: Standard (STND), Dual Fixed (DF), Dual Sliding (DS), Sliding (SL), and Breakaway (BR), with 10 replicate measurements for each configuration to ensure statistical reliability and robust comparative analysis. Each CSV file contains high-resolution time-series data from multi-sensor force measurement systems, recording elapsed time in milliseconds, impact force in Newtons from multiple force transducers, and synchronized measurements during controlled flyback events until impact completion. The standardized data format enables automated analysis of impact dynamics, calculation of critical safety parameters including impulse, maximum force, impact energy, and projectile velocity for each test configuration. This systematic experimental design supports comparative analysis between different gear mitigation strategies, investigation of configuration effects on impact severity, and robust statistical characterization with sufficient replication for meaningful conclusions about fishing gear safety performance under flyback conditions.
