Silchester Mapping Project 2005-10

This project undertook a programme of geophysical prospection in and around Silchester Roman Town (217 ha), including the small hillfort at the Frith (aka Pond Farm). The results were interpreted within the context of earlier work, including the digitisation of past excavations from the 1720s up to 2013, field walking data, aerial photographic interpretation etc. The results and interpretation are published as a monograph, and this is the digital archive of many of the datasets where copyright does not reside elsewhere. The primary resources comprise GIS Shapefiles, but there are also PDF and Image Files which some users may wish to use.
