Quantum diffusional dynamics of H_2 molecules in low-temperature liquid mixtures: a QENS study

Various quantum dynamics simulation techniques are being developed in view of their application to many scientific areas including Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, and Biology. Inelastic neutron scattering from binary mixtures of semi-quantum liquids have been shown to provide valuable and unique data for assessing the performances of such computational methods. However, the low-Q regime, and in particular the diffusional dynamics, has not been explored yet. We propose to fill this gap with a QENS study of the peculiar H_2 diffusion mechanism in Ne-H_2 mixtures at T=30 K.
