Number of participants in iDeCo in Japan 2014-2023

As of March 2023, the number of participants in individual-type defined contribution pension plans stood at around 2.9 million people, which was about 507 thousand more than the previous year. iDeCo is a tax-advantaged optional private pension plan for individuals. Assets in iDeCo plans reached a decade high in 2023.
