The mutational signature and genome feature preferences of APOBEC3C were determined. APOBEC3C was expressed constitutively in ung1- S. cerevisiae and 18 lines were passaged in parallel for up to 500 generations. Genomic DNA from each line was sequenced to allow SNPs due to cytidine deamination to be identified and mapped.
