资源简介:

The ASL MUD Echosounder Prototype 55162 was deployed on 2021-03-25 at Fraser River Delta Upper Slope. This site is located on the upper slope of the Fraser River delta, where depth is approximately 100 metres. This device is a Suspended Sediment Profiler. Suspended Sediment Profilers (SSPs) consist of multiple acoustic transducers tuned to different frequencies, and rely on a principle, that the same sediment particle will scatter differently with acoustic waves of different frequencies. SSPs are active devices, which means they transmit and receive reflected acoustic signals (i.e. echoes). SSPs are high frequency acoustic profilers, used in sediment transport studies, including measurement of suspended sediment profiles, precision altimetry, dredge plumes and turbulence. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
