Distribution of direst expenditure on mental health in India in FY 2023

In financial year 2023, about 6.7 billion Indian rupees was available for direct expenditure on mental health in India. Of the total budget about 84 percent was allocated to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS). On the other hand, 6 percent of the total budget was allocated to the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP).
