Quadrat Field Study on Plants

This data set was taken on 5 Oct 2016 at 9:30 on the Haverhill Campus at Northern Essex in the grassland field. The data was taken a total of 12 times and the transects used were randomly acquired using a random number generator. Two numbers were randomly chosen, the first number being the X variable and the second number the Y variable for how many paces along the grassland and how many paces into the grassland we should walk. The numbers ranged from 1-75 paces. At each transect, a quadrat was placed down and whatever plant species that was in that quadrat was recorded, the number of that specific plant species was recorded, the total cover of each plant (each quadrat would add up to 100%, and whether or not each specific species was a type of grass. This was done to randomly acquire data on the types of plants in the grassland and what kind of plant made up the most percentage of the quadrat by comparing the spacial distribution and the different kind of species of plants at different areas of the grassland.
