资源简介:

The mechanical performance of fibrous composites relies on the component properties, including the fibers. In many composites, fibers constitute the primary load-bearing component, which has led to a significant scientific interest in the investigation and characterization of high-performance fiber properties. Extensive studies have examined a wide array of fibers commonly used as reinforcements and considerable efforts have delved into single fiber behavior, encompassing strength, strain, and environmental factors, while also employing statistical models like the Weibull distribution to scrutinize variations in fiber strength. This dataset includes an in-depth analysis of four frequently utilized high-performance synthetic fibers: two types of Aramid, Liquid Crystal Polyester, and Polyamide 6,6. This dataset contains measurements of their mechanical properties with the goal to distinguish between variability within individual filaments (intra-fiber) and between randomly selected filaments from a manufactured bundle (interfiber). Tensile tests were performed and individual filaments were tested along their length to assess intra-fiber variability, and various filaments from different bundle sections were tested to collect inter-fiber data. This data is complied in a processed data set .xlsx file which is fully described in the data_summary.txt file. Five Matlab scripts used to process the data are also included and described fully in the data_summary.txt file.
