This study investigated how substrate pH and plant species influence rhizosphere bacterial communities in peat-based, soilless greenhouse systems. Using four ornamental plant species and a range of pH levels, we found that substrate pH was the primary driver of bacterial diversity and community structure, with plant species having a secondary effect. Key findings highlight pH-dependent shifts in microbial taxa and the important role of iron availability. These results provide insights for optimizing pH management to support nutrient cycling and sustainability in soilless horticultural production.
