Klebsiella pneumoniae is an important pathogen causing bovine mastitis that leads to economic and welfare costs in the dairy industry worldwide, and is occurring with increasing frequency in China. Bckp021 is a virulent strain isolated from the dairy cow with acute mastitis, and belongs to the serotype K2. Whole genome sequencing of strain Bckp021 may contribute to better explore the pathogenic mechanism of K. pneumoniae in bovine mastitis.
