Volume 5/2701, Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Rules, c.1843 contains rules governing applications for probate and administration, inventions and accounts to be filed, suits respecting wills, execution of sentence, fees etc.Volume 5/2702, Common Law Rules, 1855, shows duties of officers of the Court, lists general rules governing examination and admission of attornies to practise, general despatch of business and proceedings of the courts (rules regarding commencement of action, issuing of various writs of process, taxation of attorney's bills of costs, taking of examinations de bene esse, chamber business etc.), rules regarding lodging of particular writs of process with specific officers of the Court. Volume is mainly handwritten, although some printed rules are pasted in (ie. days of sitting within terms of particular jurisdictions, jury causes, chamber business, special cases etc.). A table of contents is given in front of volume. Volume 5/2703, Consolidated Rules Respecting Trial and New Trial, 1856, contains procedural rules relating to notices of trial, jury motions, causes for assessment of damages, bringing causes to trial, procedure to be adopted with regard to new trials, costs of new trials, applications to postpone trials, rules for payment of court and jurors' fees, judgment and execution after verdict, etc. In each case, procedures to be adopted, ie. documents to be drawn up and time limit for furnishing such documents to be lodged with particular court officers, are shown.Volume 5/2704, Rules of Court, 1872-74, contains additional rules promulgated by the full court for this period.
