Trans-Atlantic Study of Calanus: Physiology, Growth and Reproduction

This task of the Trans-Atlantic Study of Calanus combined laboratory, mesocosm and shipboard experimentation with modelling to advance quantitative knowledge of feeding biology, reproductive biology and key life-cycle phenomena of Calanus finmarchicus over the trans-latitudinal range. This component of TASC interacted strongly with the field programme, both by providing key analytical and experimental shipboard experimental input ot TASC cruises and also by testing, under defined laboratory conditions, critical hypothese generated by the field programme.
