A specialized disease agent of ant agriculture

We assembled and annotated the genome of a strain of Escovopsis to begin to explore the molecular underpinnings of the most extreme mycoparasitic lifestyle so far known by a fungus. The results are expected to facilitate future studies of pathogen evolution and specialization across this ancient association.
