资源简介:

This archive contains the exact version of the model used to produce the results along with input data and scripts to run the model and produce the plots for all the simulations presented in the revised version of: Vignon, É., Chiabrando, N., Agosta, C., Amory, C., Wiener, V., Charrel, J., Dubos, T., and Genthon, C.: Intermediate-complexity Parameterisation of Blowing Snow in the ICOLMDZ AGCM: development and first applications in Antarctica, EGUsphere [preprint], https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-2871, 2025. It contains two folders: 1/ The first folder contains all the needed material used to run the ICOLMDZ simulations with the new blowing snow parameterization We highly recommend people interested in replicating the simulations but not familiar with the modipsl environment to attend the modipsl training session (https://forge.ipsl.jussieu.fr/igcmg_doc/wiki/Traing) For the Vignon et al. paper, the simulations were run on the Jean-Zay HPC of IDRIS (http://www.idris.fr/jean-zay/) Compiled binary executables of the model can be found in modipsl/binThe model codes are in modipsl/models and they can be recompiled using the compile_ipslcm7.sh script in modipsl/config/IPSLCM7 Simulation experiments are in modipsl/config/IPSLCM7ADELAM-BSY-SIC (resp. ADELAM-NOBSY-SIC) is the limited area simulation over Adélie Land with the blowing snow parameterization activated (resp. deactivated).GLOBAL-BSY-nud (resp. GLOBAL-NOBSY-nud) are the global simulations with (resp. without) blowing snow. The initial conditions (start.nc files for the DYNAMICO dynamics, startphy.nc files for the LMDZ physics) and the surface boundary conditions (limit.nc files) can be found in INPUT but they can also be re-created from the CREATE* experiments in modipsl/config/IPSLCM7The path towards those files must be specified in the lmdz.card and dynamico.card files in modipsl/config/IPSLCM7/$MYCONFIG/COMP Note that to run the global simulations with nudging in wind, one must primarily download (or have access to) ERA5 u and v files (monthly files with hourly frequency on pressure levels). The path towards those files must be specified in the dynamico.card file in modipsl/config/IPSLCM7/$MYCONFIG/COMP. To run the limited area simulation, a boundary-condition file (so-called nuding_forcing.nc file) must be built using ERA5 reanalysisIt consists in the aggregation of hourly ERA5 outputs encompassing the simulation domain and period(list of needed variables here: https://gitlab.in2p3.fr/ipsl/projets/awaca/models/data-rigueur/-/blob/main/specification/minimal_lam.toml). For the Vignon et al. paper, the nudging_forcing.nc file was generated using the data-rigueur free-access softwarehttps://gitlab.in2p3.fr/ipsl/projets/awaca/models/data-rigueur The path towards the nudging_forcing.nc file must be specified in the dynamico.card file in modipsl/config/IPSLCM7/$MYCONFIG/COMP. 2/ The second folder contains all the necessary scripts and material (simulation outputs and observational data) to reproducethe figures of the paper. Scripts are python and jupyter notebook scripts (with standard packages) as well as ferret-noaa scripts (https://github.com/NOAA-PMEL/Ferret/releases). Note that figure 10 (SMB analysis) can be reproduced using the "SMB transect Antarctica" python software freely distributed here:https://gitlab.in2p3.fr/ipsl/projets/awaca/modelobs/smb-transects-antarctica-git/All the necessary material to make this figure is also included in this folder (in make_fig10).
