Dataset - Geophysical Survey of the Medieval Castle in Sławków, Poland: Insights from ERT and EM

The fieldwork at the Kraków Bishops' Castle and the Municipal Park yielded a comprehensive geophysical dataset comprising Electrical Resistivity Tomography (dataset ERT-A.zip) and Electromagnetic measurements (EM-inside-castle.xlsx; EM-Area-A.xlsx).

The ERT dataset (dataset ERT-A.zip) includes seven vertical two-dimensional cross-sections of resistivity, which characterize the subsurface based on measured resistivity values. Surveys were carried out using ABEM Lund Terrameter 1000 with 41-electrodes stainless-steel system and electrode selector. 

The EM dataset includes data on electrical conductivity and the in-phase component at depths of 0.15 m, 0.30 m, 0.75 m, and 1.5 m. Measurements were taken using the EM38-MK2 apparatus in vertical dipole mode, covering both study areas (EM-Area-A.xlsx) and the interior of the castle (EM-inside-castle.xlsx). These maps document spatial variations in electromagnetic properties, providing information on shallow and deeper subsurface layers.
