A randomized trial comparing epidural analgesia and lavender aromatherapy in terms of fear of childbirth, pain intensity, length of labor, and satisfaction with childbirth experience

The dataset include data of a randomized controlled trial conducted at Izadi teaching hospital in Qom (Iran) in 2021-2022. Participants were low risk women aged 18 to 45 years with full-term singleton pregnancies hospitalized for vaginal delivery. In this trial, the primary objectives were to compare epidural analgesia and lavender aromatherapy during the active phase of labor in terms of fear intensity during labor and postpartum. The secondary objectives were to compare the two groups in terms of pain intensity, birth satisfaction and length of labor.
