资源简介:
The Richmond River – Riparian Restoration Projects data layer is a record of collective work done by all stakeholders across all sectors – Aboriginal communities, community, industry, private landholders and government. Its objective is to show all the different people and groups working on revegetation, weeding or regeneration projects which will improve the health of the Richmond and Wilsons Rivers and their catchments. Collectively, there is an enormous effort made each year on these types of projects, and it can be hard to understand where this is occurring, and how the catchment is changing over time, and who is doing what. It is also important that we recognise and celebrate our own contribution to environmental and natural resource management within our catchment and estuary, as well as to see how we fit into the broader picture.
We anticipate this work will help others to understand where there may be new connections that can be made, where there might be gaps and what projects are focussing on at each location. It is both a source of hope that so much is happening where it is needed, and a source of information about what else may be needed.
The specific location of projects will not be made available unless this option is selected, allowing those who wish to record their effort but remain private to do so.
Initially, the mapping layer records only projects from 2017 and later due to resourcing restrictions. Over time, we hope this will be added to by others as we continue to recognise the important work achieved over many decades.
