Data from: Errors in egg laying by female Common Cuckoo Cuculus canorus in nests of its common host

Variables entering the analyses of Cuckoo laying errors and fate of Cuckoo eggs: study year, no. of nest within each year, Cuckoo egg laying date (laydate), no. of the Cuckoo egg laid within the host nest (egg no.), laying order of the Cuckoo egg (order; decimals express that Cuckoo eggs were laid on one of the two consecutive days – exact day unknown), acceptance of the Cuckoo egg (0 – rejected, 1 – accepted), laying error of the Cuckoo (0 – no error, 1 – an erroneously laid Cuckoo egg), number of host nests available for parasitism (availability), parasitism rate in 5-day periods (par. rate) and host laying synchrony.
