资源简介:
The dataset is crucial for understanding the drivers and barriers to the adoption of agricultural technologies among smallholder farmers in the Katangese Copperbelt. It provides demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of farmers associated with the adoption of improved maize seeds and includes information on the reasons behind this adoption. A survey questionnaire was used to collect data during face-to-face interviews with 300 farmers. We hypothesized that farmers' socio-economic profiles and their perceptions of climate change can influence the adoption of improved maize seeds, thereby enhancing agricultural production and building resilience to climate change. A significance level of α < 0.05 was used as the criterion for statistical significance. Notable findings show that education level, membership in farmers’ organizations, financial support, and off-farm employment are significant predictors of improved maize seed adoption among Katangese smallholder farmers.
