资源简介:
This file contains descriptive information for the datafiles:
SimonsenStinchcombe_Ecology&Evolution_Oct2014_rawdata.csv The datafile was uploaded on Figshare by Anna Simonsen (anna.simonsen@gmail.com) For full details on experimental goal, design, data collection, analysis and synthesis:
Simonsen, A.K., Chow, T., and J.R. Stinchcombe. 2014. “Reduced plant competition among kin can be explained by Jensen’s inequality”. Ecology and Evolution. in press. This datafile contains raw data for all above and belowground plant traits published in this paper. Column heading explanations for SimonsenStinchcombe_Ecology&Evolution_Oct2014_rawdata.csv: obs: unique numeric identification for each unit of observation (i.e. an individual plant). pot: unique numeric identification for the pot containing a groups of plants (n=8 individuals/pot) block: unique numeric identification for a section of the greenhouse. The greenhouse was divided into discrete sections based on previously identified micro-environmental gradients. diversity: the number of plant genotypes grown in a given pot strain: the rhizobia strain inoculation assigned to each pot. “A” refers to strain RB7 and “B” refers to strain T2. “A+B” refer to the mixed inoculation containing both strains (1:1 mixture) line: arbitrary numeric identifier for each plant genotype. dateplanted: date pre-germinated seedlings were planted into sterilized soil. Date format (day-month-year) dateofharvest: date plants were harvested for shoot and root biomass data daysgrown: total number of days plants were grown for the duration of the experiment in the greenhouse height1: plant height (base of plant to tallest apical stem, cm) measured at 30 days height2: plant height (base of plant to tallest apical stem, cm) measured at 60 days mortality: for any plant mortality, date in which the plant was noticed to be dead. Date format (day-month-year) daysflower: number of days until the first flower was produced. shoot: dry weight of aboveground shoots (g) at harvest fruit: total number of infructescences produced by harvest seeds: total number of seeds produced by harvest root: dry weight of belowground roots (g) at harvest. Note that total root biomass was measured at the pot level, not individual level, as the roots could not be disentangled between individuals within a pot.
