Mentzelia Transcriptomic Data

Our research focused on how three species from the genus Mentzelia that occur across an environmental gradient are able to respond and adapt to drought conditions. Species from the genus Mentzelia have diverged and evolved multiple times into niche space of varying environmental conditions, including desert-like habitats, making these species ideal organisms for the study of drought adaptation. Drought response has typically been studied in crop species, however, understanding responses across taxonomic groups is increasingly important with changing environmental conditions due to climate change.
