Epigenome-wide association study of blood DNA methylation and markers of physical performance indicates subtle differences across levels of cardiovascular fitness

An EWAS study investigating the associations between DNA cytosine methylation status in blood and human physical performance measures in a cross-sectional setting among senior-aged male and female individuals. This EWAS, conducted in a cross-sectional cohort design, aimed to investigate potential associations between VO2max, maximal hand grip force, maximal jump height, and cardiorespiratory fitness categories with DNA methylation status in circulating blood.
