This dataset contains raw survey responses collected from a structured questionnaire administered to pre-service EFL teachers at 5 normal universities in China. The survey was conducted online via Wenjuanxing (QuestionnaireStar) and includes anonymized individual-level responses.The instrument comprises 33 items in total, organized into two sections:Section A: 9 demographic and background variables (e.g., age, gender, academic year, intended teaching level [primary/junior/senior secondary], hometown location, prior ICT training, teaching practicum experience, device ownership, and daily internet use).Section B: 24 Likert-scale items assessing self-perceived digital literacy across domains such as technical proficiency, ethical awareness, motivation, resource management, instructional design, and application of digital tools in English language teaching contexts.This dataset served as the quantitative component of a sequential mixed-methods study titled "Profiles, Correlates, and Perceived Facilitators of Digital Literacy among Chinese Pre-Service EFL Teachers: A Mixed-Methods Study". The file is provided in Microsoft Excel format (.xlsx), with each row representing one participant and each column labeled with clear variable names for ease of reuse. All personally identifiable information has been removed to ensure participant confidentiality.
