THE ROLE OF MOTIVATION IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING

Motivation is considered one of the most important factors influencing success in foreign language learning. Students who are motivated usually demonstrate higher participation, stronger communication skills, and better academic performance. This article examines the concept of motivation in language education and analyzes different types of motivation that affect the learning process. The paper also discusses the role of teachers, classroom environment, and modern teaching methods in increasing learner motivation. Furthermore, the article highlights challenges that reduce students’ interest in learning foreign languages and suggests strategies for overcoming these difficulties. The study concludes that motivation plays a key role in helping students achieve language proficiency and maintain long-term learning success.
