资源简介:
NunatuKavut is the homeland of Inuit who reside primarily in south and central Labrador. Our ancestors have been living on this land, water and ice for generations, well before Europeans arrived. Our families continue to hunt, harvest, trap and fish on our traditional lands, including the Akami-Uapishkᵁ-KakKasuak-Mealy Mountains National Park Reserve. Seal, caribou, cod and salmon are some of the animals and marine species that are integral to our culture and heritage. In 2017, the NunatuKavut Community Council and Parks Canada agreed to a framework for consultation and co-operative park management under a Shared Understanding Agreement. This interactive site is filled with photos, videos, and stories that illustrate our connection to our homeland. Scroll down through sections or click on places on the map or icons to read stories, see photos, and watch videos.
