Hepatocyte-specific mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase 1 (MKP1) in sexual dimorphism and susceptibility to alcohol induced liver injury

To study the effects of a chronic, combined high fat and alcohol diet on liver gene expression patterns, a murine intragastric alcohol feeding system was developed. Gene expression profile comparisons from RNAseq data were completed for all experimental groups and their respective controls. Comparisons among two different groups, e.g. high fat diet, and alcohol plus high fat diet fed during 8 weeks were evaluated and differential gene expression was determined.
