The commensal gut microbiome plays crucial roles for the metabolism of drugs. The inter-individual variations of gut microbiome contribute to the different responses towards drug therapy among populations. Therefore, developing a reliable ex vivo culture method for mixed bacteria is the urgent need for predicting personal reaction to certain drug therapyThe purpose is to optimize the ex vivo culture method for human gut microbiome which can mimick the in situ host gut microbiome to the highest extent.
